Halloween & Halloween Parade
October 28, 2024

As Halloween approaches, your child’s safety is our first concern. On Thursday, October 31, 2024, all students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school. Please keep in mind the following guidelines:

  • Students are not permitted to wear gore-themed masks, or come to school with full face paint.
  • No toy guns, swords, or other weapons that encourage violence - they are not permitted.
  • Students should be able to get out of, and back into their costume easily AND by themselves for the purpose of using the bathroom.
  • Any costume or clothing that is deemed inappropriate will NOT be permitted. Students will be asked to remove items and/or costumes.
  • For the safety of our students and staff, any food items being brought into the school that are to be shared MUST be store bought and individually wrapped.

As we did last year, DeLuca will be hosting a building-wide voluntary Halloween Costume Parade. If for some reason your child will not be participating, please make sure to notify your child’s teacher.

Weather permitting, the Halloween Costume Parade will begin at 9:30am, around our playground blacktop area. Parents are encouraged to attend. All those interested should arrive at the main gates towards the front of the building no earlier than 9:20am. In the case of inclement weather, parents will be invited in to view the parade in the gym.

To ensure everyone is safe and has the best experience possible, please stay in the designated areas marked by cones. Students are expected to make two laps around the parade viewing area, and the parade should be finished by approximately 10:00am.

Please make sure to let your child’s teacher know if you plan on attending. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,
Vincent L. Fantauzzi
Principal, William E. DeLuca, Jr. Elementary School
