On Friday, April 25th, William E. Deluca hosted Uniquely You: Celebrating Our Differences—an event created to help students better understand and embrace neurodiversity within our school community. Organized by Kristina Leverone (OT), Alyssa Langone (OT), Kristen Rodrigues (Speech), Keeley Beck (STRIVE 1), Christina Nenos (STRIVE 2), and Keriann Garvey (STRIVE 3), the event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our specials team: Hannah O’Brien (Art), Caryn Rosenau and Anthony Centamore (Phys Ed), Matthew Mazer (Music), and Lenore Bzdyk (Library). During their specials times, students rotated through engaging stations including Sensory Integration, Movement Breaks, a read-aloud of All My Stripes, and an Augmentative Communication experience. Each activity was designed to build empathy, celebrate individuality, and foster a deeper appreciation for the unique ways we all experience and interact with the world. We’re so excited to kick off what we hope will become a meaningful annual tradition!
